Online Sales Terms and Conditions
Online sales are subject to the following terms and conditions between Neospace International Limited (trading as Matisse) and the Customer.
Online Sales During Covid-19 Alert Levels
Matisse is registered and able to sell and deliver essential home office products during a Level 4 alert. Selected essential home office products may be purchased online on this website. Other non-essential products are also offered for sale online, but delivery will not be possible until the Level 4 alert level is downgraded to Level 3 or lower. After checkout and payment, Matisse will confirm the purchase by email. Subject to payment of a delivery fee, Matisse will arrange for courier and delivery companies who operate under contactless and anti Covid-19 health and safety protocols, to deliver anywhere in New Zealand. During Level 4, only delivery of essential home office products is permitted. At lower alert levels, all deliveries are permitted, with priority given to essential products. Delivery times may be one or more days longer than normal and is dependent on the courier or delivery company.
Pricing
All prices listed on this website are in New Zealand dollars and are inclusive of GST. All prices are correct when published. Matisse reserve the right to alter prices at any time for any reason. Pricing does not include delivery.
Returns and Refunds
Online sales are final and returns or refunds are only considered if the goods are defective, damaged, different from the description or otherwise covered under the return or refund provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act. Requests for return or refunds must be emailed to accounts@matisse.co.nz within 7 days of the delivery date. Under certain circumstances, Matisse may in its discretion accept the goods for credit subject to a restocking fee of 15% of the invoiced value of the returned goods plus any freight.
Shipping and Delivery
Shipping fees are provided at checkout. Matisse reserves the right to cancel an order in exceptional cases where delivery results in unusually high shipping charges or problems with delivering (eg remote locations).
The shipping fee charged at checkout is for a standard delivery service (to door, ground floor only) and does not include unboxing, rubbish removal or assembly.
Please make note of the following before placing an order:
We are unable to deliver to PO Boxes. Please provide a physical address for delivery.Phone numbers are required for all orders.
Online orders are generally dispatched within 1-3 business days of payment. Upon dispatch, shipping confirmation and tracking numbers are sent to your nominated email address so you can track expected delivery times and status. There will be delays during any Covid-19 lockdown period.Matisse do not deliver outside New Zealand, however an overseas order may still be placed with a New Zealand delivery address.
Order Pick-up
You may choose to pick-up your order as the delivery method at checkout. Pick-up is only available at our Auckland Warehouse in Mt Wellington. Once your order is placed, you will be notified as soon as your order is ready for pick-up (1-3 business days). Proof of purchase and ID is required on pick-up.
Please wait until you receive confirmation your order is ready before attempting pick-up.
Please note that the packaging of some products can be too large for a car or SUV. We will notify you if an item is “oversize” so arrangements can be made prior to pick-up.
Receiving
The Customer is responsible for checking the condition, quantity, specification and finishes of the goods upon delivery. If the delivery option allows unpacking so that the goods can be inspected, the Customer must note the damage or the issue on the delivery receipt before signing it and must notify Matisse of the damage or any other issue with the goods within 24 hours of delivery. If the delivery is not unpacked for inspection at delivery, the Customer must unpack and inspect the goods as soon as possible, and also notify Matisse of any damage or issue with the goods within 24 hours of delivery.
Any claim for damages or for any other issue may not be considered by Matisse if it is not notified within 24 hours of delivery.Materials & Finishes
Fabrics, leathers, stone, timber grains, samples, swatches, finishes, colours, pictures etc are indicative only as each sample, picture, batch or product may have slight variations and may vary from order to order.
Payment
We accept payments by Visa, Mastercard and American Express. All online transactions are processed by Shopify Commerce Singapore Pte Ltd (processing fees will apply). You acknowledge and agree that the information transmitted to or stored by Shopify, is governed by its privacy policy at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy
Deemed Acceptance
Payment for your purchase constitutes deemed acceptance by the Customer of the foregoing term and conditions.
General Sales Terms & Conditions
For other sales (not online or Contract division sales), the sale is subject to the following terms and conditions between Neospace International Limited (trading as Matisse) and the Customer. Please note that sales from the Contract division are bound under different terms and conditions as per the respective Supply Agreement.
Delivery
For indent orders, delivery times will vary depending on the product and the manufacturer and will be advised upon confirmation of the order from our Supplier. Other unscheduled delays outside our control will also be notified in writing. Local freight and delivery charges will be itemised separately and payable by the Customer. When products are available for delivery, Matisse will arrange the delivery for the earliest time available that is suitable for the Customer.
Delivery times cannot be guaranteed. The delivery charge is for delivery to a single location advised by the Customer. Additional charges may be on-charged for delivery to multiple locations, where there is difficult access, or for special equipment (eg crane).Matisse do not deliver outside New Zealand, however an overseas order may still be placed with a New Zealand delivery address.
Receiving

CUSTOMER OWN MATERIAL (COM): Customers providing or specifying fabrics or finishes other than our Supplier’s standard fabrics and finishes, are responsible for the quality, quantity and timely delivery of these fabrics and finishes to our manufacturers. All costs incurred for the materials, freight, duties and taxes must be paid in full prior to the order being placed. The Supplier may reject the material and this together with the costs involved are at the Customer’s own risk. Suppliers do not warrant COM items. Supply lead-times will increase due to the specification of COM.
Payment Terms
50% Deposit on the value of the goods must be made on confirmation of the order. Orders will not be placed with Suppliers until the Deposit has been paid. If for any reason the order is subsequently cancelled, we reserve the right to use the Deposit to defray any costs in associated with restocking or disposal of the goods. Payment of the balance must be made prior to delivery of the goods. If the Customer cannot take delivery of the goods when they are ready for delivery, storage may be arranged and charged to the Customer, but payment of any outstanding balance is still due and must be paid on invoice. Payment can be made in store by credit card (processing fees will apply) or by bank deposit to Matisse’s bank account number: 12-3109-0102127-50
Completion & Title
No legal title for any goods supplied shall pass to the Customer until full payment has been received. Failure to make payment in accordance with the above terms shall entitle Matisse to repossess the goods in the event of a payment default, dispute, receivership or liquidation. The Customer agrees to pay on demand, all costs (including commission and legal fees as between solicitor and own client and any other costs) incurred by Matisse’s agents relating to the recovery of any amounts payable by the Customer to Matisse.
Deemed Acceptance
Payment of the Deposit constitutes deemed acceptance by the Customer of the Terms and Conditions of Sale and the accuracy and completeness of the sales order.
